Given its city centre location, it’s no surprise that Leeds theory test centre has great transport links. It’s a very quick 7-minute walk from Leeds train station and a 12-minute walk from Leeds Coach Station.
If buses are more your thing, you’re in luck! The theory test centre is actually on one of the busiest streets in the city—The Headrow. That means buses aren’t exactly in short supply. In fact, most bus routes in the area include this street at some point on their rounds. There’s a bus stop (labelled The Headrow) literally metres from Gallery House, where the Pearson centre is located. If you’re coming from the other direction, you can also disembark at the South Parade bus stop. From here it will be a 2-minute walk to the test centre.
For more information on transport times and routes, consult the Leeds City Council website.
Planning to get there by car? Tap LS1 5RD into your trusty satnav and hit the road. Most routes will have you finishing on The Headrow. As this is right in the centre of Leeds, we’d advise avoiding this journey during rush hour. If you don’t have much of a choice, leave yourself plenty of extra time to make up for the traffic!
The theory test centre itself does not provide on site parking, but you’re in a major city so there are plenty of other options. Don’t expect them to be cheap, though! In terms of convenience, we’d go for The Light car park, which charges £6 for 2 hours and is a 4-minute walk from where you’ll be taking the test. With 402 spaces available you’ll be extremely unlucky not to get a spot. Your next best option is Albion Street, which again charges £6 for 2 hours and is a 4-minute walk away.
Though the Leeds theory test centre pass rate has been on a bit of a downward slope, its current figures sit only slightly below the national average. It’s also important to remember that pass rates don’t really mean anything for learner drivers. After all, no matter where you go, you’ll be sitting the same test!
