Arriving at Redditch Theory Test Centre

By public transport

Before you even think about answering the questions correctly, you need to work out how you’re going to arrive at the test location! For those who live locally, this could be as simple as a quick stroll from your front door. People heading into Redditch from out of town, however, may need to navigate public transport.

If you arrive at Redditch train station, you’ll find that getting to the theory test centre involves a fairly straightforward 8-minute walk. Simply head down Unicorn Hill and along Church Green West. Those taking the bus should get off at the Baptist Church bus stop on Easemore Road. From here it should only take you 4 minutes to reach the test centre on foot.

By car

We know that some learners are chauffeured around by their nearest and dearest. If this is the case, or indeed if you just want to pay for a taxi, let the driver know that the postcode of your destination is B97 4DL. A sat nav should be able to take care of the rest!

A handy tip: the theory test centre sits just off the Redditch Ringway/B4160. Keep an eye out for the Fish Hill turn off once you’re on this road and you’ll be at your test in no time!

Parking

Those driving learners to their test may be a little dismayed to find that the Redditch theory test centre does not provide on-site parking. This can be a bit of a pain if the plan was to ditch the car for a couple of hours. Do not fret, though, as there are affordable parking options nearby!

The Kingfisher Shopping Centre car park (B97 4AB) is an 8-minute walk from the test centre and charges a very reasonable £1.50 for 2 hours of parking. The closest option after that is Redditch Station car park (B97 4RB). It’s roughly 13 minutes from your destination, but charges a more pricey £3.20 for the same amount of time.

Pass Rates by Year

The good news is that the pass rates at Redditch theory test centre have been consistently above average. The bad news is that this changed in 2019-20. That being said, these figures don’t really have any bearing on how well you are likely to do if you sit your test here. If we’re really honest, the theory test is the same wherever you happen to take it. Focus more on studying than the statistics!

Guides and Tips

In preparation for the theory test, it’s really important that you understand what’s expected of you on the day. The theory test is split into two sections: multiple choice questions and a hazard perception test. You must achieve a pass mark on both sections to earn an overall pass!
