Arriving at Sheffield Theory Test Centre

By public transport

As we’ve mentioned, this theory test centre is in a prime city-centre location, so getting to it should be no problem. If arriving by train, you’ll find it’s just over a 12-minute walk from Sheffield train station to your test. You could also get the tram (they call it the Supertram)—City Hall stop is less than a 5-minute walk from the theory centre.

If buses are more to your liking there are a few routes to choose from. The Pinfold Street/Holly Street bus stop is 2-minutes from the test centre. Very handy! To learn more about the city’s transport links, pay a visit to the Sheffield City Council website.

By car

If you (or rather, the person giving you a lift) don’t mind driving in cities, taking a car to the centre is always an option. Tap S1 2EX into your sat nav and hit the road. As this is a busy city, we do recommend setting aside more time if you plan to travel during rush hour.

Parking

When it comes to parking, you won’t find any at the test centre itself, but there are options very nearby. Campo Lane car park (S1 2E|G) is a 1-minute walk away and charges £5.90 for 2 hours of parking. It also provides the option of booking a space in advance of your journey, which might provide some peace of mind. If that option seems a little steep in terms of price, you could try Pennine Five car park (S1 2DD). It’ll be a 3-minute walk from your car to the test and they charge a very reasonable £1 for 2 hours.

Pass Rates by Year

Though this theory test centre has seen a slight dip in its pass rate over the last few years, its latest figure represents a rise and is only slightly below the national average. Plus, while good to know, Sheffield’s pass rate has very little impact on the likelihood that you will pass your theory test here. The test is the same format all over the country. How you perform is up to you!
