Arriving at Southport Theory Test Centre

By public transport

Southport theory test centre is handily located within walking distance from Southport train station—a quick 13 minutes, to be exact. If the weather’s bad or you don’t fancy a walk, there are usually a number of cabs available just outside the station.

For those who prefer to take the bus, it’s an even shorter walk. Hop off at The Promenade bus stop and it’ll only take 4 minutes to reach your test. Alternatively, the Houghton Street stop is a similar 5-minute walk away.

If you require even more detailed information on things like timetables, maps and ticket prices, head to Visit Southport or the Sefton Council website.

By car

Arriving by car instead of public transport? No problem. Simply tap PR9 0ER into a sat nav and hit the road. Once you reach Leicester Street, you may find that you are directed to one of the large houses on the residential part of the street. The building you are actually looking for, Gordon House, is further down the road on the corner. As the building is often classed by maps as being on the B5245, some navigators struggle to get a precise location.

Parking

Sadly, you won’t find parking spots available at the actual test centre. Don’t fret, though—there are some cheap options a reasonable distance away. Your best bet is to head to Floral Hall car park. It’s a 10-minute walk to your destination from here and you’ll only be charged £1.60 for 2 hours! Failing that, Marine Drive car park is an 18-minute walk from the test centre. Taking a spot here will set you back £2.20 for 2 hours.

Pass Rates by Year

As you can see, the pass rate for Southport theory test centre goes slightly up and down but remains consistently above the national average. While many people take an interest in pass rates, they don’t really tell you anything about your personal chances of passing the test in a particular location. The theory test will be the same no matter where you take it. The best thing to do is study hard and not worry too much about the stats!
