Arriving at Slough Theory Test Centre

By public transport

Slough theory test centre sits in the north-eastern part of the town, which has the double bonus of allowing you to avoid the busy areas while having quick access to the local transport links. From Slough train station, for example, it should only take you around 7 minutes to walk to your test.

There are also a number of bus stops just around the corner from the test centre. If this is your preferred mode of transport, all you need to do is hop off at the Queens Road bus stop and take a quick 4-minute stroll. Easy!

To find out more about the transport options in Slough, have a browse of the Slough Borough Council website.

By car

For those arriving by car instead, it should be a pretty straightforward journey. Enter SL2 5DY into a sat nav and follow the instructions.

If your route takes you onto Wellington Street, turn right onto the B416 (Stoke Road) and take another right when you see Mill Street. From here, take the first left that appears after Mill Street becomes Petersfield Avenue, and the test centre will be on your left.

Parking

Getting to the test centre by car may be quick and convenient, but parking is often another kettle of fish. You see, most theory test centres do not provide parking, and Slough is no different. To save you some time driving in circles to find a space, we’ve located your best options in terms of convenience and price.

As far as convenience is concerned, the Slough Station North car park (SL1 1XW) is your best option, as it’s only a 6-minute walk from the test centre. The downside is that you’ll be charged a fairly hefty £4.80 for 2 hours of parking. A bit steep, if you ask us!

To save some pennies, it might be worth venturing over to the Brunel Way car park (SL1 1XL) instead. Here you’ll only be charged £2 for 2 hours of parking and it’s only a slightly further 10-minute walk from the test centre. Plus, there are 200 spaces here, so you have a good chance of finding a free spot.

Pass Rates by Year

2015-16 2016-17 2017-18 2018-19 2019-20 2020-21 2021-22
46.8% 46.5% 46.1% 45.0% 44.9% 52.7%   50.6%

We’ll let you into a little secret: pass rates don’t really mean anything for learners. Whether you pass or fail is all down to how you perform on the day and that tends to be determined by how much you study for the test.
