What To Expect On The Day

After spending what probably feels like years crying over gear changes and parallel parking, you’re finally at the point where your instructor considers you test-ready. Give yourself a quick round of applause—it’s a huge achievement to reach this point, so you should be more than proud of yourself.

On the day of your test, put your provisional in your pocket or purse/wallet. If you forget it, you won’t be allowed to take the test. Next, get to Merthyr Tydfil test centre ten minutes before your test starts.

Your forty minute driving test will then proceed with:

  • An eyesight test, where you’ll need to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres
  • Two “show me, tell me” questions covering vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Twenty minutes of general driving, where you’ll be guided by the examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres:
  • Twenty minutes of independent driving, during which you’ll either follow sat nav directions or sign posts to reach a set destination

Improve Your Chances With PassMeFast

PassMeFast does things a little differently to other driving schools and crash course providers. Rather than force learners to take time off work, or learn at such a sporadic pace that they don’t actually develop their skills properly, we give them full reins when it comes to their course structure.

Depending on your availability and how long you’d like to spend behind the wheel at a time, your lessons will be taken in two to five hour blocks. By increasing your lesson length (and decreasing the gaps between lessons), you’ll have more than enough time to master areas like clutch control and manoeuvres. We’ll even fast-track your test at Merthyr test centre so that you’re not waiting around!

We have a wide range of crash course packages for learners with any level of experience—you can compare them properly over on our course prices page. Once you’re ready to take the next step, you can book in over the phone on 0333 123 4949, or book online!
